Great area! I just bought a house this summer in the same area (a little south of Lincoln Park, closer to the Buffalo border), so welcome to the neighborhood. Solid mid-century houses in decent repair, nice neighbors. No McMansions, which I wanted to avoid in picking a suburban home. Character, sidewalks and bikeable roads, and trees. And unlike most of the city (), I can walk to the subway station. While it may not be the "prettiest" of the Buffalo suburbs, I find it the most pleasant, and there are so many neighborhoods, parks and amenities to explore. The school district is also consistently pretty well-reviewed.

My wife and I have seriously been debating whether to move to Kenmore (within the next few months). She is originally from Kenmore and her family still resides there. We now reside in the burbs of Washington DC, with a child and another on the way. We LOVE the homes in the area, cost of living, the walkability factor and its proximity to the city.

I grew up in Kenmore, and it's a great place. Now I teach at Kenmore West.

My grandmother used to say that Kenmore taxes were a bit higher because it was considered part of the Town of Tonawanda for certain things. I'm not sure if/how that works, since Kenmore has its own police force, dpw, etc.

I'm not too worried about the taxes because they are a bit cheaper than where we currently live. We like that its affordable, walkable and close to the city. I heard they tore down one of the car dealerships and are now putting up a mixed use structure. Is there anywhere online I can see renderings of it? I also heard they were building a really nice sports bar where the old Carvel's use to be. Any renderings or pictures of that online too?

There was a photo of the demo of the Jeep dealership on Delaware Ave with the Eberhart Mansion in the background earlier this week in the Tonawanda News. Just a pile of rubble at this point. I drove by the former Caravel yesterday. Very early in the construction. Looks like it will be two story.
