Is it possible to commute from Montreal to Burlington everyday? I currently live and work in Burlington , but Iam tired of living in such a small town . I really would like to live in a big city. The only problem is, that I have no interest leaving my job in Burlington, because it pays very well. If I lived in anyother big city , I would have to take a job that pays significantly lower .

Is traveling between Montreal and Burlington worth it? Is there a bus that runs between them everyday or would I have to drive? How long does it take to get across the border?

Are you a US citizen? That would be at the top of the list, of things you would need to consider. You just can't pack up and move to Canada.

In order to live in Canada, you would have to APPLY and be accepted by the Canadian Government as a Immigrant. That process takes at least a year, or more, and being approved is based on YOUR education, actual work skills, and financial stability, and good health.

Canada is looking for educated people, who want to live and WORK in Canada.

Cross border commuters do exist, but they are usually travelling a short distance, like from Windsor to Detroit, or Niagara Falls Ontario, to Buffalo New York.

To drive from Quebec to Burlington, every day, in the winter would be crazy, even if you were somehow able to secure permanent residency in Canada.

A terrible idea.

I worked for a while in Montreal for a company who had a warehouse in US right on the border in Rouses Point, NY. Some Montreal co-workers had to be deployed for extended periods of time to that warehouse and they chose to commute. It was an average of one hour each way from Montreal and this was during the winter.
I live in Montreal West Island and travel frequently to Burlington, by car, without any major traffic delays in Montreal, with border crossing practically five minutes (I always through smaller border cross points such as Rouses Point or Champlain) the average travel time in either direction is two hours. By bus it is longer because everybody in the bus has to clear immigration.
If you want to live in Montreal and work in Burlington you either come over here for the week-end, telecommute or a combination of both. If I would be you I would probably come over for the weekend. You will not need to do any immigration paperwork for this.
