How much do you make at your home based business? What kind of business is it? How did you get started? What exactly do you do?

Several home-based businesses:

Ranch: small scale production of organic lamb, cattle, poultry, and fiber goats.

Farm: small producer of certifed organic hay, expanding now into organic vegetables.

I pay for my ranching and farming habit as a Manufacturer's Rep (with a multi-state protected territory that I travel) for several lines of high tech industrial products; I also contract to install some of those products from time to time (as long as I'm not competing with my contractor base).

I also manufacture tack for the "natural horseman".

Income level is best described as "adequate".

maybe it's a good idea that someone dropships you when you get your own website, you don't need to stock much stuff, and remove the risk .

Lots of work you can do at home and more and more companies are allowing employees to work out of home several days a week. How much money you make depends on what type of work you do. Literally, you can offer all types of services out of the home -- financial consulting, marketing, public relations, journalism, employee recruitment, doctor's office billing.

It's more a matter of taking what you do, and doing it out of the home.

I make a very good living working from home, the type of business I wont disclose though, but its rare to run my type of business at home, and even rarer to make what I make doing it.

That being said, its taken me 4 years to get where I am, and I've learned to nickel and dime every single thing I did to get the business profitable. Everyone would laugh cause I'd save $.15 on this, and $.20 on that, but that change added up allowing me to modernize, to save $4 here and $5 there, something that my competition cant even imagine.

Last three years I broke even, this year I am expecting a great return.

Do what you know, do what you like, and learn to minimize expenses and maximize income..

I personally am not running my own home business at the moment but from my experience it depends majorly on your advertising. Everything i have worked on has been web based business, what i have noticed that really separates on from the other is what SEO company they have. This is extremely important to help generate leads. Also if you are a bigger company (not just solely online) i think that it is important to have someone like just for example Mindshape Creative Brand Marketing - Successful Marketing Company to help with the genuine feel of the company. But if you are interested in a website that will be up and basically run itself ex paintball goods you can pull in about 6 grand a month. Hope this helps
