It depends on what you want from them. They offer loans - but you need to check the rates and obligations against other sources. They offer SCORE which is free consulting to businesses by other (typically retired) business people who can answer typical questions.

I would also suggest SCORE. I've used them several times for advice and it was really helpful.

I have used SCORE once and also found it useful. While the person who was on duty didn't have specific experience in the area of my question (partnerships), it was helpful to be able to talk to another business person in confidence.

SCORE are retired professionals who now aid small business owners in their endeavors. I'm sorry, I've long forgotten what it stands for. The website is SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" They are a resource partner w/ the SBA. Most cities have a chapter of SCORE.

Went to their website and to attend a seminar I got to pay $40.0

Individual consulting with SCORE is free for a fact. I got consulting last month. No bill.

Make a request through their web site. It registers you with SBA. Then they'll contact you to schedule an appointment.
