I own a restaurant and was wondering if anyone knows a decent merchant services provider. I currently use Tsys, and I currently pay about 4% in fees. I've considered switching to square or intuit, both of which are 2% or less. But before I do that I would like to know if there are any other providers with better rates. The problem with square or intuit is that they don't offer receipt printing. That is the main problem I know of. For a restaurant that's critical, many customers need a receipt.

If I could print receipts, intuit might be the best option.

Square/cube/intuit, etc., provide emailed receipts. Just email the receipt to your own printer and print it out at the restaurant.

You should visit the forums at foodservice.com. I am pretty sure that question has been discussed at length there. Also check out the new payment system by Amazon ("Amazon Local Register") which offers a 1.75% rate through the end of 2015.

I've thought about that. I've never calculated it out, but once I figure in labor costs for time I'm not optimistic I will come out ahead.

I'm on that other forum as well, but it's saturated with people trying to sell services, and most mentioned seem about the same as what I have. CD has a lot of people with good insight so I thought I'd ask.
