It's very admirable you want to help the less fortunate but by definition poor people don't have a lot of money to spend so how is your business going to make money? You'll most likley need to do something non profit with donations or grants.

Not being mean, here. I'm giving you good advice: If you have to ask strangers on the internet for a business idea, you are a very long ways from being able to run a business.

I suggest some business courses at your local college or junior college. If you can find the courses offered by the Small Business Administration, those are excellent. Those classes are nuts and bolts without an extraneous stuff. Small Business Administration also offers small business loans, but you have to take their classes, first.

My best guess, you can't make money by selling to the poor. You have to provide jobs and get them to work for you. The salary you pay them will help them. If you run your business well, you make a profit on their labor, so you are provided for, too.

Typically I agree with this sentiment like when someone comes on here like how can I open a medical marijuana dispensary its like if you have to come here to ask your not capable of running that business.

That said I consider myself a pretty business saavy person and run a successful business and I'll occasionlly post questions on this and other message boards bascially just picking other peoples brains and seeing if anyone says anything that jump starts an idea with me. I dont think someone is going to give me an idea but maybe suggest something that helps me create one of my own.

I think the main problem here is is the OP trying to run a business or a charity as poor people by definition dont really have much income to spend at your business which leads me to believe he wants to start some type of non profit. Nothing wrong with that but I do notice everyone these days wants to start their own hobby non profit be it a dog rescue or other type of charity.
