Here's a situation.
I bought an HID kit from a seller from Canada.
They initially refused to honor return/refund but then told me to USPS it back to Canada and provided address.

Here's economics of this:
kit costs $89.98 plus $2.75 international fee.
Return shipping charge is $45.57

Technically, that makes kit non-returnable due to monetary loss.
It can possibly be sold on say craigslist but it's flooded with $50 or less HID kits.

Any reasonable solutions I am missing?

They may deduct restocking fees from your refund as well.

I think you're better off reselling it here in the US.

Yeah... And be in their rights. They have NYC affiliate, I'll try to return it to them. Kit was never installed.
Been a while since I got into something like this, I am usually very careful. For the hey of it, I placed stop pay claim via cc, will see how that goes. It worked once before with a stubborn seller.

if there is a major defect or misrepresentation than call your credit card company, they will refund you in full

Why did you stop payment? Was the item defective and they refused to fix/replace it?

If not, why are you returning it?

Oh yes, it's grand lie about it. Advertised as made in Germany and is not, actually produces less light than regular halogen bulbs, bulbs don't fit well into the socket and fall out, came without promised OEM connector.
I stopped pay because seller tried to wiggle out of return.
So you think cc will take care of this? Would have been ideal. Been with BOA for what - since 99. I had this done once before and after some back/for with BOA I had full refund and then they went after seller.
