Aloha!

I need some life / Business advise....

I am in Colorado for now but toward mid 2018 my partner and I have to decide whether we stay here or move to the East Coast. The thing is that I always dreamt about starting my wedding planning business. Ive already formed the LLC but I stopped keep going with the company as we were unsure if we were going to stay or leave.

If I continue forming the company in Denver and then I leave what would happen with the company? Could I keep running the business from the East Coast? And start another one in NY? i am so confuse!!!

The thing is that I dont want to keep postponing my dream, Ive waited so long already.

You'll have wasted a lot of time, energy and money.

Yep. It takes two-three years to really turn most businesses into profitable ventures. Picking up and leaving when you just get rolling destroys your momentum.

If the business is up and running, you sell it when you leave.

This would be an impossible business to sell, for it has no equity. No inventory. No property. No intellectual property. And, in this case, no customer list, assuming that her clients stay married.

The sole asset of the company is the owner, who is moving 2000 miles away.

You sound kind of indecisive as a person. That's not typically a good trait for an entrepreneur. The wedding business is needed everywhere, no matter where in the country you're located. If you want to open the business, you need to commit to it and make it a success. Get an accountant and they'll help you figure out all the technical details. The greatest thing about being an entrepreneur is that you determine your own success.

This type of business is all about reputation. If you move, you can't take what you have built in Colorado with you.

If you do start it today and do move, you will have much more experience, so it will be easier to start over in your new location, but make no mistake, you will be starting over.

I think it depends on your current employment/income situation on what to do.

Maybe you can do it on the side, get experience building a business, experience in marketing and promotion etc.... so if you do move, you will be that much more prepared to really hit the ground running. If you don't move, then great, you have already started and can ramp things up.

I would move forward if possible.
