An LLC costs very little (a few hundred dollars at most) to open. If you don't open a business and just start developing an app, all your personal assets are on the line should you be sued. Protecting your personal assets from being able to be targeted in a lawsuit would absolutely be worth the money to register as a business.

Most small businesses in the US are set up as sole proprietors.
Yes, in US. Planning to build apps soon, but this is the question before publishing app. Maybe it is still early to ask this question, but it is my question.

Thanks. I feel it is difficult to handle tax information, since I am not familiar with tax information related to LLC.

My son has an app company. If I remember correctly, he went through some confusing issues when getting approved by Apple/Google as a developer, so you may want to start there and look at the requirements.

Good luck!

Thanks. Would you please help me ask your son a few questions: How does he publish android app to Google Play under company's name?

I have paid $25 registration fee to Google Play for publishing app, but paid with my personal google account and personal credit card.

I have not formed a LLC yet, but decide to form one this year or next year. Can personal email be used as company's email for publishing app?

I have company domain, so I can build a website, but I don't have email associated with the domain. I am not sure if company can publish app via regular gmail account (not custom email account).

Are company domain and custom email required?

Thanks.

I'm not going to ask him questions that you can find out as you go through the process yourself. I'll just suggest that you do not use a personal email for business ever. Your app email should reflect the name of your app or company.

You should try to find an online forum for app developers or see if Google Play has any training resources.

Form the LLC can be easily done through legal zoom for $300-400. Buy a domain through Godaddy and have them host the domain also fee would probably be about $120/yearly and create to email address:

yourname@yourcompany.com
info@yourcompany.com

As far as the app stuff you have to do some more research and development. But I can tell you need what i stated above first.
