I haven't sifted through the five pages of this thread, but perhaps it would be of some value to you.

8 snake beat me to posting that link. How we went through 5 pages of discussing a sub shop that dont actually put anything between the slices of bread confuses me. Why dont you go for a sub franchise that actually puts meat on the bread?

Probably because Subway has a decent track record of putting bread in the franchisee's pockets.

Are there school cafeterias for the staff and students?
Any offices and commercial buildings in the area, if so how many fastfood outlets and restaurants are there that will be competing with you for business?

A franchise is a "buy yourself a job"; hard to get rich unless you're in prime location. I would not want to plunk in my savings unless the number works.

* Cost of getting a franchise: $100k - $350k ?
* Additional Franchise Fee: ?
* Royalty Fee: 8% - 10% ?
* Term of Agreement: ? years

* Lease rate + Labour wages + food costs
* Sale volume

See if you can get them to release a project revenue statement before you commit/sign any papers.

Good luck

Hey! I like subs from Subway lol. Try the "Big Philly" there's plenty of meat, but it's $7.

Quiznos is my favorite, but you don't want to own one. Did you know you have to use an accountant from Quiznos?! It's almost as if you are an employee rather than a business owner.

I think the kids ... oops the students would love this
a trailer as a kitchen
a bus converted to a dining room
delicious sandwiches
and no huge franchise cost & fee

A friend of my mothers would disagree with you on this one.

While subway franchisees do ok financially, its usually because they usually own multiple franchises. I heard (yes, take it as a "I heard" posting) that her average Subway franchise pulls in about $25K a year after all of the overhead is paid, which means one would need 4-5 of them to make a decent living.

In my opinion, (and again, yes its my opinion), the return isnt worth the type of investment required and the amount of work involved.
