Simple question and poll, what do you like about your choice, what does it offer? Around here we typically shop at Safeway or Whole Foods, sometimes a local store called Draegers. For the next thread/poll maybe we could do specialty markets, like for instance Asian markets, ect.

Well I shopped mostly at Vons so I guess that was my fave, and of course Trader Joes (which I miss also Nita!)

I like Vons which is owned by Safeway, its a familiar feel and layout when I am shopping in Southern Cailfornia, plus you can use your Safeway card/Vons card at either store. I would also note that, Safeway Select products were relaunched I believe and are always of high quality for the price. For organic foods Whole Foods has a nice selection, some things are hit and miss , for instance the Hot Deli is uniformly bad compared with smaller Grocery store chains. They do however have a great beer/wine selection, good quality meat and poultry, fish, and assorted grains, nuts.

If I was still there I would certainly put Trader Joe's at the top but for some reason when I think "grocery stores" I just don't think TJs. Used to love Ralph's and when we lived in Sacramento Raleys was at the top of the list. In Glendora of course it was Stater Bros..

We like Trader Joes for their wine, of course and other liquors as well, plus sometimes unusual produce and some great specialty items, like pecan, blue cheese spread.

I just loved the feel of Stater brothers and in Sacramento, Rayleys had the best selection.

Nita

You didn't include WinCo. That's criminal negligence.
