Yea, HIV is totally spread by the lack of clean water, good food, and sanitation.

It's preventable with an electable procedure, like pertussis. Like HIV, pertussis is not spread by bad hygiene/sanitation or bad food.

bad hygiene/sanitation or bad food still helps spread diseases

btw HIV is not contagious, pertussis is. The only way to get HIV is if a bodily fluid(like blood) from an infected person enters your bloodstream.

HIV is contagious via the blood. Pertussis is contagious via mucous membranes. Mucous membranes are obviously more exposed, so when someone infected sneezes/coughs on you, the fluid from their mucous membranes can easily interact with your own(nose, mouth, eyes, etc) and cause infection. They're both contagious, just with different vectors. One is much easier to avoid, but, regardless, you're not talking about hygiene, sanitation, or bad food. Being in a third world country doesn't promote the spread of pertussis.

And bad hygiene, sanitation, or food/water does help spread some diseases, but that isn't all diseases, not even close.
