... that cost me money today!

At 12:15 PM today, as I was approaching the 8th hour of my workday, I was told to sign out and go home because of the overtime that was imminent. There was still work to do, but because of this socialist piece of crap state, the theory that I would be making 1.5x instead of x dollars per hour is a reality of ZERO. Thanks, socialists!

This is a part time job. How much sense does it make to force employers to pay overtime on a part-time job?

I routinely have to work 9 1/2 hours, and have been told that because the extra hour and a half wasn't approved ahead of time, it's considered a gift, and I don't get paid for it.

I guess no job is perfect, but I didn't know we were a socialist state.

Are you exempt or non-exempt?

Why didn't you just volunteer your time?

We're not. Not even remotely close, but some posters like hyperbole.

We will take your complaints with a grain of salt given your prior posts:
I want to move to California and go on welfare

I often work 60 hour weeks...and don't an extra DIME for any of it. You've got nothing to complain about.

Easy for you to say. I worked for Anheuser-Busch doing beer merchandising while in college. Without that law I'd be required to work 10-12 hour days during the heat of summer without OT hauling tens of thousands of pounds of beer every day. Sorry, but there are no benefits for part time work. I'll take my OT or they can send me home. I'm not a pack mule

...and I worked for Busch Entertainment and yes, they will fully take advantage of you if they can.
