If you only had 3 cities to choose from in which to retire, which one would it be? Los Angeles, San Francisco, or San Diego? This assumes you have family connections in all three, and you can afford to live in all three, so these are not factors in your decision.

San Diego.

Depends on what type of lifestyle you want though.

San Francisco. Familiarity might be helpful when I get old and forgetful.

It depends on what kind of lifestyle you want.

San Diego:

Warm weather
Sunny weather
Easy parking
House with yard
Beaches

San Francisco:

Cool weather
Walkable
Condo/Apt living
Urban

If you want a NYC atmosphere choose SF, if you want a S. Florida atmosphere choose SD.

If LA means the greater LA area and not the city then LA would be my choice.

You could not pay me to live in Frisco

SD could be ok ... possibly

No one can answer that, it depends on your interests, political leanings and a few other things: I would say, San Diego first, but again, it depends on so many things. Now, if you are looking at the entire metro area, I might put Los Angeles at the top of the list.
