I part ways with liberals on this one (actually I dislike most of what the city of SF does for the most part). I will agree with you on this and you would be well within your right to do this. I don't think Mr. Lee has done his homework; while the US has no official language(s) many states do and Ca. is one of them. English is the official language according to the state constitution. Any business that's sued will likely not be sued successfully once this tidbit of info surfaces.

And well he should. He's a child psychologist!

Welcome to the Kahleefornia State Legislature - the epitome of "fruits and nuts!"

When we were last there, Kaiser provided interpreter services and literature in something like 22 languages. I think over a hundred are spoken in Los Angeles schools.

No other country I ever lived in does that. Why should we?

Let's hope all them business owners need to learn Chinese.. I'm sick of all the preferential treatment towards Spanish alone.

"Press 1 for English, Press 2 for Spanish".. what do I press for Chinese, eh?

Yee’s measure would extend the protection to customers and allow them to sue privately and receive minimum damages of $4,000 per violation.
If I go into a store in SF and they won't speak to me in Pig Latin (language of origin), I have a right to sue? Oh happy day!

I was thinking something like that too, my first thought was, "Are English speakers in the Bay covered by this?"

Out of the many ridiculous things that involve political correctness, this is insane. Do they expect us to learn every language known?
