They're where their new consumer base is, given that they've rebranded PBR from the beer associated with factory workers in the old Rust Belt to a beer associated with hipsters and trendies. Just as they've rebranded PBR from a white working class beverage to a hipster beverage, they're attempting to do the same with Colt 45, traditionally considered a black working class beverage. Not that you won't find hipster types in Chicago - there are many - but California has more.

Pabst products sold on the West Coast will continue to be brewed in Irwindale, CA.

Great for the economy, but a sad day for quality brews

One of the easiest ways you can tell hipsters are idiots is that they drink PBR. Ugh.

And Colt 45? Please. Mickey's and Country Club are where it's at

All the beers mentioned in this thread are for guys who live behind chain-link fences. Who would actually choose to drink that **** anyway?

Its a well known brand, but the company is basically a small marketing shop that outsources all its other functions.

We can blame David Lynch and Dennis Hopper for hipsters drinking PBR:

Am I the only one, besides Fonty, who remembers the old ad jingle (Yeah! That's what they called the songs back in the real days.) "What'll you have, Pabst Blue Ribbon?"

Now they also brew Schlitz, "The beer that made Milwaukee famous!"
