Thanks to those greedy rat bastard politicians in sacramento our total vehicle registration will double as of 5-1-09.My total fees currently are $55.00 & now my tags will be $110.00.My car is 19 yrs old is this is just pathetic. When i first bought my car 6 yrs ago my tags were $41.00 & nearly every yr those sneeks at the dmv increased my fees.

A few yrs or so back a 5 yr drivers license was $15.00 & now its $27.00.I can honestly see why MANY residents of ca including john & ken of KFI am 640 in los angeles hate politicians especially the creeps in sacramento including the ex terminator/govenor arnold.I dont blame anyone for moving out of greedy california.

The registration has not doubled. What has and will go up in cost is the yearly tax added to registration.
You may blame "greedy california", but every state does it. Most states add it to your property tax.
I too envied other states like Oregon with $21 registration, but their property taxes are thru the roof.

If you're right then thats better then double registration fees.Property tax in oregon is outragious cause they dont pay state sales tax.Keep in mind though ca just passed the biggest tax increase in history (53 billion dollars).Politicians cant be trusted!

I wouldn't quite say that... CA motorists pay plenty in Gasoline Highway taxes and a lot of it gets diverted from Highway construction and maintenance...

I still don't understand how this is possible because the Legislature was quite specific as to the tax only being used for Highway construction and maintenance.

In ca we pay !8 cents per gal tax & 18.4 cents federal tax.36.4 cents per gallon is nothing compared to what many are paying in other countries like england & germany.Ca is #1 in highest gas tax in the nation.Keep in mind those greedy politicians in the state capital wanted to increase state gas tax by 14 cents. Its something how we have to pay for their ignorance & greedyness as we will soon see in the 53 billion dollar tax increase. The highest ever in ca history.

We moved out before all the economy issues, tax issues, etc.. I feel for people caught because of their house not worth their loans but not willing to walk away. Homes will not be an investment for years to come in CA. What little they gain in additional taxes they will loose when more families like us leave out of necessity and not choice. It is a vicious circle and the losers are the people that can't leave. Such a sad situation for such a beautiful state.

I want normal and reasonable services. I dont want the state paying for the healthcare and education of illegal aliens. I dont want the state giving instate tuition to illegal aliens. I dont want the state paying for politicians junkets out of the state or country. I dont want the govt paying for bottled water for country supervisors who are too lazy to get off of their blackhead covering butts to drink tap water. Please feel free to add to this list.
I dont mind paying taxes that are used to provide expected govt services. Anything else is a crime.
