I voted for San Francisco, but money no object, I would opt for Tiburon.

Geesh, your list is missing some pretty significant locations including the entire Silicon Valley and others:

* Los Altos
* Pebble Beach
* Palos Verdes Estates
* Pacific Palisades

While I've visited houses in rediculously wealthy neighborhoods in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Pacific Pallisades and Malibu I prefer Rancho Palos Verdes over those areas. I don't find Beverly Hills all that impressive besides crazy, expensive homes. The area itself really isn't that great IMO.

If money was no object I'd still pick Monterey since I love the area. Then a summer house in PNW would be a great addition.
