After cringing through 2 of his very awkward debate performances, I am amazed that he would even make such a request--say what you will about her politics but in a face to face debate, Nancy Pelosi would eat his lunch, and dinner. And breakfast the next morning.

It's just soooo much freakin hot air coming from Perry. Why would Pelosi debate the guy? There is nothing at all in it for her. She needs to debate this guy like she needs ahole in the head. Perry knows that there is zero chance of her taking him up on it and it's just a pathetic excuse to get his dwindling name in the media.

I would immensely enjoy that type of clownfest. A couple of windbags.

And to say "She was too afraid to debate me," if she backs down. He can try to use it for leverage either way.

They are both horrible politicians. Pelosi might be a worse debater than Perry. She is a completely ungraceful speaker and not nimble at all. And of course she told us we had to read the healthcare bill to see what was in it because she couldn't tell us.

Any such debate should be on the Comedy channel.

So Perry thinks the best way for him to display his Presidential chops is to debate... the House Minority Leader?

I found out that this has to do with the revelation that Pelosi and her husband benefited from insider trading with Visa. They invested a few mill into an initial public offering from Visa and came away with 20 mill. Pelosi did not press the merchant fees issue Visa benefited from for a couple of years. It worked out well for all involved.

At this point, Rick Perry should not even attempt to have a debate Elmer Fudd.
