I live in NJ, still, after many failed attempts to move to California. But I am coming so leave the lights on.

NJ: " California?! Are you crazy?
Me: Yes
NJ: "That's the land of fruits and nuts!"
Me:Beats the land of pissed off, small minded, insecure smack offs.
NJ:"What are you going to do out there?"
Me: Get a job, date a little, play the guitar in a little band, treat my kids to a better climate, get a new phone number, thank god I made it.
NJ:"If you don't have you S>~€^ together here, you won't have it together there"
Me:If I didn't have my S^~>together I wouldn't be able to move cross country to begin with.
NJ: "California is going to fall off into the ocean"
Me:I'd hate to miss it
NJ: "What are you a movie star now?"
Me: What are you another ding dong hanging out in a dive bar on the corner destined to die in obscurity? (spell check)
NJ: "Why California?
Me: Why New Jersey?

I've been hired on the Highway patrol, a couple decent jobs, had to turn at the last minute due to an ex wife of 22 years scared to move away from her mother because she watched Cops to many times on TV. I've lost more deposits on Uhauls than I can remember, now a single dad, one finishing associates, one out of high school. It might be Thousand Oaks, it may be Burbank but I'm coming once and for all.
Leave the lights on for me

That's good.
More power to you ... truly.
Just curious but why either Burbank or Thousand Oaks?
Have you been to California?

Sure. I've been to Arcadia, Pasadena. T.O., Topanga, Burbank, Parts of the valley, Malibu, LA, Von's before it was gone and that little 7-11 I think on the PCH in Malibu with the tiny out door tables and shared a taco with a seagull.
I don't know why those places. I guess you just get kind of farmiliar with an area and go from there.

O.K. ... just checking.
You might want to drive up the coast just so that you don't get fixated on a part of the state that may or may not suit you best.

Also, what I like about Burbank is there are things going on. If you want a night out you don't necessarily have to hit the freeway. To me that's a big plus. Other places where something is going on particularly at night seems to have a lot of bad that goes with it like Long Beach, Venice Beach etc. That's my take anyway.
