I always looked upon CA as THE trend-setting state, and the subsequent honor they've received from starting trends, so with these successful marijuana ballots passing in CO & WA, does this embarrass CA a little bit?

And no Right to Die/Physician Assisted Suicide law, like OR & WA!

Come on CA! Let's get with it! Poke! Poke! Poke!

Couldn't care less about MJ laws. Assisted suicide - neutral. Marriage equality - yeah, that ticks me off.

California just can't win. We're either too liberal or we're not liberal enough.

I think it's embrassing there are people that actually get bothered by the fact that we aren't always the "trendsetter" or the first state to do this or that.

Good for other states for doing some things CA hasn't been able to yet.

CA does not want weed legal because so many government jobs depend on it being illegal. Think on how many DEA agents will be unemployed. How many politicians will miss their graft? CA and the federal government has made a well paying business on weed being illegal.

When the state can alter voting results they can guarantee their outcome. Any vote to legalize will fail.

I can think of 50 other drugs the DEA is focused on other than weed... legal weed isn't going to cost any government agent jobs, trust me.

I'm ok with this actually. It gives us a chance to see how it plays out and let everyone else in the country get used to the ideas without putting the pressure on us.

I agree.
But then they would actually have to start working. Weed is easy to spot from air and the shear size of ther product makes it easy to spot. The govt will have to get off their lazy butts to earn a living with other drugs.
