Hey everyone! My friend and I are looking for a good place to live in California for our age. We're both female, 25, and laid back. We want something on the coast, not mega expensive but reasonable with a full time job. Warm weather (These NY winters are killing us!!), good night scene and pretty close to the beach is a plus! I'm hearing a lot about San Diego, any opinions on that or other places would be amazing!! Thanks!!!

Look at San Diego. Do you like partying? Try Pacific Beach. It's a bunch of college students and surfers.Do you like shopping? Try Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, and Huntington Beach in OC. All three have excellent nightlife. There's South Coast Plaza which is one of the best in the world and many others.
How safe of a place do you want? San Diego's Pacific Beach and Ocean Beachs are fun, but they will not be as safe as a city with more families like Carlsbad, or Newport Beach.Best of luck.

What is your rental or housing price range?
What line of work are you in?
Where do you expect to work?
Have a car?

I agree with going to Orange County. With the large mall at South Coast Plaza you won't have any problem finding a job.

I would look in the bay area. It's close to San Fran and San Jose, which both have night life and its anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to the nearest beach. Because the bay is so big, you shouldn't have a hard time finding something affordable. If you're from New York then I don't think you'll have a problem finding something in your budget. The average rental in the bay for 2 bedrooms starts at about$1200. amd goes up.Good Luck!
