Well I'm ok with it. The sooner Texas becomes Californicated the better.

Well if Gov Perry wants Californians to move to Texas, the last thing he should do is have himself be the spokesperson

Also, doesn't Texas have a significant franchise tax that taxes the sales/revenues (not just net income) of many companies?

And high property taxes which would shock Californians coddled by Prop 13.

HA that will NEVER happen. Secondly why the heck would it want to BTW TX voters are much brighter at the polls.

Most go to the polls informed...with the exception of voting for their Governors. Excluding Ann Richards of course.

TX will NEVER allow itself to crumble at the seams and be managed by idiots like Cali fornication has.

Californians seem to be very impaired at math and reasoning when it comes to TX and taxes.

You get much more bang for your buck in TX.

Houses are much more modern and affordable than here.

TX has NO STATE INCOME TAX

TX has NO SDI TAX

These three factors all added together result in less money out of your pocket if you were living in TX and owning a nice modern house.

Come on you TX haters as Fonky puts it...Like moths to a flame

California only loses .3% of its jobs annually to business re-location. POINT THREE. They're not all relocating to Texas, either.

Like Governor Brown said, nothing to see here.

Please pay no attention to our idiot, far-right extremist of a ''Governor''. He's not even popular in Texas right now after embarrassing himself and Texas last year.

Houses are much more modern (so a house built in 2013 in Texas would be more modern than a house built in 2013 in California?) and affordable than here. Low demand, low prices, high demand high prices, econ 101

TX has NO SDI TAX

Tax freedom day in Texas, 4/11, tax freedom day in CA 4/20. 9 days difference, That gives us a fraction, 9/365th, We can reduce that to, 1/40th. I think that works out to a 3.285% difference in what the state takes from you in Texas and what the state takes from you in CA.

Not much of a difference, and probably made up for by the expenses incurred in getting out of Texas at every possible opportunity.

I did find Austins counter-petition to secede from Texas, should Texas secede from the union pretty funny. That was at the white house petition site.

well prop 13 is stupid and a major contributor to our budget problems. Not only does it limit property tax rates, but it also only allows re-assessment of rates upon a change in ownership, which is incredibly unfair and causes gaming of the system

also, given similar properties in CA and TX, you'll end up paying less in prop taxes in TX--the rate might be 3X higher, but the property will be 3-6X cheaper as well
