Highnlite, you gottalotta nerve out traipsing around enjoying California when the are so many serious problems to be taken seriously about the state of the state. STEM jobs are fleeing California and you are out packing in the rolling hills with a bunch of compadres, drinking beer and eating grilled steaks and sleeping under the stars.

Sacrilege ... Soon the white middle class will be gone, fleed. All while you enjoyed life.

Nice photos, btw.

You can still ride Leonard.

I did not take many photos along the trail as, my horse decided that weekend to be a butt. He did not like the pack mule running right up on his butt, so he acted out, jigging, dancing, kicking out. And, if you know the coastal range trails, you know that is not conducive to handling cameras, rather than attempting to modify horse behaviors, and not die in the process.

But, it was a great weekend to be out, and, we ate good!

Someone made a dutch oven berry, peach, pear cobbler, dang, that was one of the best things I ever ate. I nearly ran off into the darkness with the dutch oven and a large spoon.

Yes I can still ride and have friends with horses. BUT, my wife does not and we seem to like to do things together.

The Coastal Range has great variety and I have hiked through some of it.

With horses around watch where you step in the dark.

I find that few couples ride. Most of my friends who ride, ride without their spouses. Men without wives, or my preference, wives without husbands.

My wife doesn't ride, and I don't garden. Works out well for us.

Horse pucky on the shoes is a good hick badge, that is why usn's were called *hitkickers when we were kids. It is the cow pies I don't much care for, but my dog does!

One of my projects is a 200 mile trail through the Coast Range, from Monterey to Lake Piru. Redwoods, manzanita, chemise, big cone Spruce, snow and desert.
