Wow, though not surprising considering both WA & CA also have the leading tech centers (including aerospace) in the U.S., and it's also a good preview of political, social and cultural trends all over the rest of the world, that are all being led by the growth of tech. It's gonna be like the whole ''rust belt'' phenomenon on a global scale... either innovate and adapt, or fall behind!

Oh BTW, related, but dunno if you've read Thomas Friedman's ''The World is Flat''....

And even in a "New Economy" state like CA, the actual excitement is mostly concentrated in the Coastal Counties especially the ones that are parts of the SF, LA and SD blobs. Ask Jose Sixpack in Madera County and he'd respond "y que!?"

Darwin at work I suppose. Although in truth, due to the increased border security the labor shortage in the fields is acute, wages are going up for field workers.

I have a feeling that the patterns of growth in the ''New Economy'' are usually gonna end up being fairly localized, even within the leading states.

I wonder how well CA scores for Americans in terms of tech jobs, given half the people working in tech these days are foreign nationals who entered the U.S. with an H1-B, L1, or some other type of visa.

Gotta improve STEM classes in the good ole' USA if you want to 'stem' this tide.
(Pretty clever, huh? I is a smart 'merican.)

Not sure what we should with Mississippi, though. Looking pretty grim for them.
