South Orange County California: Jobs, nice weather, 20 minutes from the beach, low crime, excellent schools, plenty of amenities, beautiful masterplanned communities, single family homes not outragous (but not cheap either).

I guess people who like to park their cars on the lawn, or cover their boats with blue tarps in the driveway wouldn't like living here.

The irony is the safest areas usually have gated communities. Orange County is the worst.

PS I voted Monterey

Or you could live where I lived for decades in S. OC and be 2 minutes from the beach with no HOAs or master planned anything. Something for everyone.

The Monterey Peninsula is about as good as it gets in my opinion. Lived and/or worked there for 11 years and I pine for it daily. Yeah, I could afford to buy a house here, but I don't know if it was worth it or not vs. staying over there.
