That's a great one, but Advertising for the Santa Cruz Boardwalk has ruined it for me.

The Hotel California referred to in the Eagles song was the Beverly Hills Hotel. The Hotel California in Todos Santos BCS has never tried to discourage folks from thinking otherwise.

At one time everyone wanted to see the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, as much as San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf.....has the place changed so much people hate it? I left California 22 years ago, now only visit Northern CA.

Check out Hwy 17 southbound traffic on the weekends. SC Boardwalk has nothing to worry about.

Of course not; why turn away publicity?

"Q. You’ve certainly written a few songs whose meanings no one can agree on.

A. FREY: Those are the best meanings. The unintended ones. The misinterpretations. [laughs]

HENLEY: It’s what keeps the whole thing going. People still ask me what “Hotel California” means and I just say to them, 'Whatever it means to you is fine with me.' "
