That is a 100% truism bob.
You know the definition of "truism" right?:
A statement that is unremarkably true.

What is remarkably true about climate change, OTOH, is that some folks - pretty much all of them conservatives - deny it is scientifically, measurably, also significantly being affected by intensive human activities at an alarmingly increasing rate.

That said, what is debatable is whether current scientific modeling is accurate to make meaningful predictions. So many variables.

That's not what I'm talking about and you know it. If you truly don't know it then maybe you should not comment on this.

Nice sentiment bob. Good intention.
But your comment seems a bit non-sequiturial.
How does it relate to your previous post on climate change?

And if in fact there are still any rational conservatives who really wish to be taken seriously, then they need to quit making excuses and start saying "enough" to their own lunatic fringe that's obviously running the show now. Otherwise they're just another part of the problem, instead of part of the solution.
^^^Precisely!

But they do not say "enough", because the point of being a 'pub barnacle is to amass wealth. And the talking heads have been making a killing throwing meat to the masses for over a decade now, making ever more gullible dollars hand over fist, such that the party has little reason to slow this gravy train. If the only point is to make money, than the ongoing propaganda campaign has been a wild success.

I think not.
Arvada, Colorado is now considered "Jesusland"? Since when did this happen?

David Icke was a member of the Green Party in Britain and he also says human caused global warming/climate change is a scam. And he is every bit as critical of Republicans such as the Bushes (perhaps more so...he criticizes Henry Kissinger--a Republican-- in this video) as well as folks like Al Gore:

You have a fondness for conspiracy theories.
Quote:
David Vaughan Icke is an English writer, public speaker and a former professional footballer and sports broadcaster. He promotes conspiracy theories about global politics and has written extensively about them.
Now, that said, note I did not say that global warming is totally anthropogenic. Nor did I say how serious it will prove to be over what span of time. I said it is significantly anthropogenic, and measurably so after the fact. And it is. Where all this will go in concert with other natural forces is uncertain to a degree. But the reality of anthropogenic change - is scientific fact.

Now back to outer space for you

Conservatives use fear. Liberals use optimistic warm-hearted ideals to appeal to the masses that accomplish close to nothing(except reelection) while eating up tons of tax dollars.

That's not to mention the sickening self righteousness and political correctness exuded in the process
