It says anyone born in the US, AND subject to its jurisdiction, is a citizen. Foreign nationals are not subject to the jurisdiction of the US, they are subject to the jurisdiction of their own country - a person born to a foreign national is a citizen of their parent's country by inheritance.

There are a ton of contemporaneous resources regarding the language and the intent of the citizenship clause of 14A, and not a single one supports your claim. Do some research, you'll see what I mean.
Someone born here is not subject to the jurisdiction of any other country. You are thinking of the parent. A child who is born in the US, is a US citizen, even if their parents are not.

Just like the child of a US citizen, who is born in Mexico, is also a Mexican citizen. I had friends from Philadephia when I lived in Mexico, who had a baby while in Mexico. Their son has both Mexican citizenship and US citizenship. Even though his parents are not Mexican citizens. Same for the US.

Anyone who is confused on this issue should consult an immigration attorney to be sure, rather than believe anyone on the internet.

As goes California, so goes the USA.

Aren't the children of improperly-documented citizens already eligible for CHIP???

A bus ticket back to Tijuana is much cheaper.

A much greater percentage of the ethnic population is on Welfare.

Liberals are too stupid to interpret statistics.

Oh. You mean like 99% of scientists concurring with climate change that conservative legislators deny?

Yet Retardicans such as yourself blame "Illegals" for free loading off the government. When statistics shows, Asians and Mexicans COMBINED still make up LESS than the number of Whites who are on welfare.

Of the people on welfare, Whites and Blacks are the ones stringing the Govt. along using up 80% of the resource.
