Picture of poster from the county is on the Crescent City Harbor's facebook page:

Immediate quarantine of all bivalve shellfish. There's a danger of Domoic Acid poisoning, which is pretty serious. The poster says you can still use them for bait, but don't eat them.

I don't know any other info or if it's state-wide. Just thought I'd help get the info out there.

So the value of bivalves is significantly reduced then? Sounds like an opportunity.

An opportunity for what? Poisoning someone on the cheap? Like Bivalves and Old Lace?

I believe the common test is not to eat any shellfish in months that end in "R" Happens every year.
