What type of jobs? That's the key. There are jobs everywhere in California, but maybe not the type of work you're looking for. And, what's the maximum job commute you're willing to do?

Sure, in Palmdale. Here's 80 of them for 200k or less. Commute into LA like most of the residents there do:
