Would anyone here say that Bakersfield (or the Bakersfield-Delano Metro) is more desirable than the Coachella Valley (Greater Palm Springs Area), including cities such as Indio, Coachella, and Desert Hot Springs?

The Coachella Valley is more well-known than the Bakersfield metro. People have been vacationing in Palm Springs for many years not the same can be said about the Bakersfield area.

Bakersfield might have more potential than the Palm Springs area. I don't know I've never been to Coachella/Palm Springs.

Palm Springs has more going for it than Coachella (the city). You should visit the Greater Palm Springs Area sometime.

I myself haven't been to Bakersfield yet.

Agreed. You should go to Bako. It only 1.5-2 hours away from LA.

Someday, I plan to take a drive up to Bakersfield (I don't refer to it as "Bako" as I'm not a Central Valley native ) and other areas of the Central Valley. One area of the Central Valley that I'm pretty interested in exploring is Redding and the surrounding areas (Redding Metro Area). A couple of others are the Red Bluff area (Red Bluff Micropolitan Area) and the Chico/Oroville area (Chico Metro Area, Butte County). I honestly don't mind the heat that much as I am a born-and-raised native of a baking hot area of CA.

You have more dope addicts in Cathedral City (Coachella Valley) than anywhere else in the state. Palm Springs is nice, but the surrounding towns in the Coachella Valley are filled of welfare cases, illegals and tweekers
