I don’t think our democrat overlords really now what life will be like if we stop enforcing the rule of law. If anyone ever wonders what keeps wages down for lower income individuals it is the unfettered importation of cheap and illegal labor. How in one breath the Democrats talk about raining minimum wage to $15 an hour and in the next day we need more no and low skill illegal workers is beyond me.

I'll link it again ... California growers are in trouble with ICE chasing away their workers. You can hate it all you want, but citizens arent taking the work.

Exactly every day I wish for pension reform but it never happens. I just have to keep paying more of my hard earned money in taxes to those fat pensions

Our state government is in the black. We pay $1.50 in federal taxes for every $1.00 in federal money that flows in. They can stop their unwanted services, and we can pay our own way much cheaper. Good luck to them and their exploding debt.
Rapidly approaching a trillion dollars in pension liability.

Actually, we're just barely a donor state. We get 99 cents from the federal government for every dollar sent to DC. (per the California Legislative Analyst's Office as of 2017). For all intents and purposes close enough to be called even.

Of course the dollar amount means nothing except in relation to revenue and revenue potential. But your erudite economics mind knew that, right vega?

Actually, it changes from year to year. Some years 1% difference ... other years 23% or so ... oh, am I repeating myself?

I personally there are two reasons, the market hasn't, doesn't want to adjust because, well why the hell would I pay a worker more, I've been paying peanuts for years!

The other one is psychological, everyone knows this is "*****" work that only Mexicans do. It's engrained in everyone's mind.

It does with many. It also happens when posters don't read the thread and need to have information covered previously repeated ... see post #20, for instance
