High taxes, too many laws, higher minimum wage, Democrats, etc, etc. We've heard it all on this forum. The gloom-and-doom club forecasting the demise of California due to a myriad of causes.

Oh well, sorry to disappoint, but apparently someone is doing something right.

Congrats to a great state!

If your economy is doing so great why do you stay in the red?

Cost of Living is unbelievably low. People are friendly. I've never seen anyone call a tent home (not to mention human feces on the sidewalk) We still respect the police and we have no state income tax. We also still have a say in our election process as we are not overrun with illegals

You should visit sometime

It only takes me 3 days of work to pay my monthly bills. Anything else is extra or i can take time off. There's a lot to be said for that

GDP represents the monetary value of all goods and services produced within a state's geographic borders over a specified period of time. Glad to hear that the big tech companies, corporate farms, etc are doing so nicely, but this has nothing to do with the economy as felt by the average resident. The high taxes, regulations and wasteful Democratic government spending (bullet train to nowhere) have more of an impact on everyday life than whether or not some big tech company is making a profit. I'm not a California doom & gloomer, just pointing this out.

It is a feel good figure. "Look at me, I live in CA with the 5th largest economy in the world". Mind you it does not make them any better off, just emotionally high. CA as a geographic area is fantastic, as to QOL and COL, be rich or struggle.
