If this is a new political ad for Villaraigosa, it's rather odd and I'm not certain why it would make somebody vote for him.

Maybe people fondly recall when "Chico and the Man" was on television (mid-1970s), gas cost 35 cents per gallon, you could buy a car for under 4 K, and L.A. was less crowded. (I didn't realize that Jose Feliciano sang the theme song to that TV show.)

I'm voting for John Chiang.

I will be so glad when tonight is over. No more political ads, mailers or robo calls. I already have an idea who will be the candidates. What interests me most are the propositions. I'm watching one in particular, Prop 69. Fingers crossed that one passes.

Actually, from the John and Ken voter guide:

"This is a straight out scam on you. This is the Josh Newman “Lockbox” for gas and car tax money that will hide away your money. But as a John and Ken listener, you know from our interviews with Jon Coupal that there’s no such thing as a ‘lockbox’ - they’re always filled with holes. Vote NO. "

I can't believe he's made it this far. The liberally biased news in L.A. had somebody blathering about how he allegedly improved L.A.'s infrastructure -- a blatant lie but people in other parts of the state have no idea just how bad Gang Tats Tony was for L.A.

Aw, too late. I voted yes. Oh well, it wouldn't be the first time I messed up.

Mine, too.

Proposition 69 would put California's transportation funds in a lockbox. Vote yes

The new taxes may be in a lock box, but the tax funds supposedly for roads being paid by the amount of tax that is still in effect before the rise in taxes, will be spent elsewhere; in effect the Prop will have no real impact on how much is spent from the overall gas tax amount. This is common in CA and a large amount of the total collected is still diverted.
