Sad that one small section of the state pretty much rules what goes on in the rest of the state. Maybe it really is time to let them break off from the rest of the state.
perhaps because people vote and not the land, if there are more people in los angeles and bay area they should dictate the agenda, like it or not

A little off topic but still related. The egregious arrogance of the Coastal Left Bloc is pretty well known. But where it reaches its WTF zenith is the whole breakup of CA issue.

It's also pretty well known that the States interior (Central Valley-roughly Bakersfield to Stockton) and to a lesser extent, Orange County and the IE and the Coast have a mutual rabid hatred of each other.

The interior rightly complains about taxation without representation, excessive taxation, no say in elections, ad nausem. They are the ones that want 'out' from CA.

The Coast meanwhile loves to mock, ridicule, and just show overall disdain and derision for the Interior-apparently just for the sheer sadistic pleasure of it. Not a day goes by where they don't remind the Central Valley about "how culturally, intellectually, economically, and socially inferior they are" and how "they are a drag, stain, and abscess on the beautiful great state of California".

The Valley says "Well we hate you and your high horse attitude too. Can we please divorce and become our own state?"

"Absolutely not" says the Coast. "We must keep the state intact."

I mean seriously. WTF?

I'll be sending liberal democrats to Washington and fiscal conservatives, maybe actual conservatives, to the state house.

I might vote for a Republican governor.

They are right, you always have the option to leave, unfortunately in democracy who has more votes wins, the liberal coast of california has more people than the interior.

You want another state for what? this other state will have a populous city that will soon begin to control the politics of the new state, and what will be done?

Liberals often claim that California is a model for why democratic policies work, but that claim is masked by the fact that California is also a beautiful state, geographically, and has some of the best weather in the country. Naturally, wealthy, successful people are going to want to move here for those reasons.

In fact, in general, liberals tend to inhabit naturally beautiful areas which skews the reality of economic successes in these areas. I think, if the tides were turned, and liberals predominantly occupied "fly-over" or less-than-desirable parts of the country, the flaws in their political model would start to show more.

- Water rationing
- higher property taxes
- higher gas prices
- higher overall business state taxes
- More illegal aliens
- More crime and criminals on the streets

This is what you can expect if you vote Newsom into office. He’s probably the most unqualified candidate ever fielded in California. The guy actually tries to claim he reduced homelessness in San Francisco.

Bad economic politics do not work regardless of the landscape that cities have ... one of the most beautiful countries in the world is Brazil, its beautiful beaches, mountains, forests, warm weather all year long, beautiful people, delicious food, an unwanted country for being poor, violent and with economic policies poor .

When I’m reading about the election results, most of them don’t mention Josh Newman in Orange County got recalled and replaced by a Republican. That means the Democrats lost their supermajority for raising taxes. It also gives me hope the gas tax will be repealed in November.

It’s a step in the right direction (no pun intended) and I’ll be voting Cox if I’m still here in November.

The media probably didn’t report it because it didn’t fit the liberal agenda.

The Democrats really shot themselves in the foot when they rammed through the gas and car tax. This will help Cox and Cox will help repealing the gas and car tax and will help get more or save Republican representatives.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if Cox won, I greatly fear Newson. I mean I really fear him.
