So you found your solution. Great! Now you don’t deal with any of those problems that quite naturally arise as a consequence of living in one of the world’s most premier locations.

So what’s your beef now you are free of it? What a crappy way to spend your freedom, ranting about what you don’t have to live with anymore.

You can't seriously believe that, really? Please. Wake up and smell the coffee. It would be exactly the same. Although, out of curiosity, how would a republican government make it any different?

As if the rest of us haven't "actually paid these fees and taxes?"

Have a nice time in TX. (Not sure why we need to kiss your a$$, though.)

You beat me to the exact question: what would republican government do to reduce the congestion and cost of living? If there was a magic COL reduction path - population/congestion would explode.

So many just can’t grasp the truth: homo sapiens have been out of the caves 10,000 years trying EVERY possible kind of governance: totalitarian, egalitarian, democratic, autocratic, every kind of religious rule, secular rule, dictatorships, republics, socialist, communist, capitalist, republican conservative, democratic liberalist ... et al, yadda yadda, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

If any one of them solved the human dilemmas - it would have been obvious long ago and we’d have THAT one kind of governance round the globe, and only THAT one.

The problem is inherent in the discontent of human nature.

Well see? You went and answered the question for him. Now he doesn't have to think for himself. Stop doing that, will ya? But what you say is true. Things don't get done without money. Money doesn't grow on trees - at least that's what Dad used to tell me. So it stands to reason, we who live here have to support what's been built. I don't want to live in a rubble (not to be confused with Barney), would you?

People hate CA because it's a dump, there's poop on the streets, and homeless camping in tents next to the curb or under a freeway.

Plus CA has the highest taxes, highest housing prices/rents, and highest homeless population.

The biggest issue California faces is that state income taxes are no longer deductible above $10k on your federal tax return. This will encourage high income earners to leave the state and erodes the tax base. It really hits high tax states hard because let’s face it I’ve got no desire to live in a state where it’s going to cost me an extra 10% of my income just to live there. I really like California and I’d love to live there particularly just North of San Diego but I’m not paying that much for the privilege. I do enjoy visiting however

That's mostly hyperbole. There are 40 million people in this state and last year there was a net increase in population of 155k, so it's not like people are evacuating the state. California definitely does not have the highest taxes, and housing prices outside of San Francisco and LA are quite reasonable, and the state does not have the highest homeless.

California has the largest number of homeless but that's because of the size of the state, we also probably have more people with brown eyes than any other state but it's hardly relevant unless you calculate it on a per capita basis:
Homeless rate per 10,000 people
1-New York 46
2-Hawaii 46
3-Oregon 35
4-California 33
5-Washington 30

How would the elimination of the SALT deduction over $10,000 cost you 10% of your income?
