Did you feel the same way with the rollout of 4g? I had to buy a new phone to take advantage of it, but if I had wanted to I could have continued to use my 3g phone.
Over time older systems will go away or be even less effective. Cost will go up.

Just like the Microsoft programs. They bring out a new one and after a while no support for the old ones and when you buy a new computer, what used to be a standard program on them at no real cost, now it is expensive and you no longer get a CD with the program, so if you want to use it on a new computer, you pay.

There are many websites that show giant holes in existing coverage. Huge areas that have no cell phone coverage.

What a joke. They know they will be investing in G5 anyway. They have no choice. If they don't invest in it, their competitors will. G5 is coming. They are just promising the inevitable, but they will be able to charge more for it. Because there will be less competition.

Look for the weasel words: 99% of CA households. Substantially different from 99% of California.

I would rather they started to give coverage in populated areas, that are currently under-served. We just moved, & brought my T mobile phone with us. It gets no reception at home, unless I log onto wifi. And the wifi can be spoty so it is a problem.

Is 5G really that important? Aren't most of us available to stream 1080p pretty much everywhere with 4G? And, how often do we do that? Maybe I'd consider it if I can cut my other internet sources for example, cable or DSL and just have 5G for household and if it was unlimited data.

Should have stayed in the dense areas, which is where all the awesome stuff like 5G happens
