A short stretch of Hwy 152 (Pacheco Pass) is fairly steep. Not sure how steep though.

I white-knuckled it every time I hauled my horses both up and down the Conejo Grade and the Cuesta Grade. Both were unavoidable when I was hauling to horse shows in Santa Barbara and other coastal locations from my home base in Calabasas. Not only did I worry about my own rig, even though it was impeccably maintained, but also someone else losing control and taking me out in the process. I don't find the Grapevine even close to being as scary as Conejo and Cuesta. But that might just be me.

Hwy 395 north from Bishop to the top of Deadman Summit in Mammoth. It's great going south, you can coast the whole way practically. Heading north though when I'm towing something forget about seeing 50mph.
