Even if the recall fails, it will bring more scrutiny to Newsom's failures in the state (which are numerous).

Roll eyes at the recall attempt, but don't question or want the government to be held accountable. Says a lot.

But apparently 60% of registered voters don't think he has numerous failures

There's a difference between "thinking" and "reality". The reality is Newsom is causing irreparable harm to the lower and middle class in California, and the overall economic health of the state.

Here's some reading you might enjoy.

Groupthink is a psychological phenomenon in which everyone in a group goes along with a decision without critical evaluation of alternative ideas or viewpoints. The desire for harmony or conformity is so strong that no one dares to say, “Wait a minute, this may not be such a good idea.” And it happens all the time...

I didn't become rich by acting like a "group thinker". Group thinkers were the ones who lost their entire networth in the housing crisis, or voted disasters like Newsom into office. I will always pick critical evaluation of an idea over "group think".

And according to political columnist George Skelton who's covered government and politics for over 50 years.

The jury’s still out on Newsom as California governor — but he did OK his first year:

You're defending newsom, not criticizing the action in question. It's a continuing pattern.

I went back and looked. Couldn’t find any defense of Newsom in sleepy’s posts. All I found were factual statements defining the likelihood of recall. Maybe you’re allergic to facts?

Those that support what's going on have a vetted interest to keep the Ponzi scheme going, they're current and former gov employees. And then there's those that think the govt has their best interest but in reality just screw them over, the lower and middle class you mentioned. In this very thread you can see who has hasn't critized these actions.

I have no doubt. Unionized workers in the state of California will accept pretty much any travesty coming down the pipe from Newsom because he's dangling their pensions right in front of them. CalPERs is one of the largest unfunded long term liabilities in the state. It's not sustainable, not without more taxation (which will be redirected from other areas to fund it).

State workers should have been on a 401k with some matching decades ago.
