You already mentioned you like where you live in California. The mistake was not pledging 110% allegiance to California and condemning everywhere else. For a few people there can be no other way nor compromise. You stated why you were moving to Washington and said nothing negative about California , but a few posters interpret that as a slam on California nonetheless.
