I'm wondering if anyone has an idea when Lake Tahoe will be open for out of towners again? Do you think it would be reasonable to drive up in June for several days to stay at a hotel, eat, and go swimming (if not going to a casino or being around crowds?)

Check frequently here to find out dates of openings. There are still restrictions in place and things can always change, based on whether we see a surge or decline. Hopefully, Tahoe and every place will open soon.

I just read an article in Chico ER online, that visitors are not yet allowed to Tahoe. If you have a second home, you may visit it, but not allowed to rent it out.

Stay at Home order means just that. Any questions?

Until the stay at home order is lifted, please do so. Thank you for your cooperation

Yosemite will be open soon, so I think Tahoe will follow suit. https://www.mercurynews.com/yosemite...ne-with-limits

I wonder if they'll be able to stay. According to the news, no one except residents of the area are allowed. They're open but not fully open to ALL the public. Better warn your friends before they waste the time only to be told to go back home ... or "Get off my lawn!"

I’m not sure if they have another residence up there are not, but I doubt it. I also doubt they’re going without a hotel reservation, but I’ll mention it.

You do realize the police aren’t on the side of the road checking ID to see if people live there or not? My friend owns a home there (actually several do) and they’ve been going back and forth to it from San Diego all throughout the lockdown. Their family and friends have also used the house when they weren’t there and there were no issues. The city told people not to come, even second homeowners, but it’s still a free country.

I’m well aware of the friends who all met up there early on and got ticketed at the 7-11, but I’m sure there was more to the story? Like being idiots for gathering in a group at a public place? It sure did work deterring people from going as news spreads quickly these days.

Honestly I don’t know why anyone would want to go to Tahoe, or Big Bear (which did/said the same thing) unless you have a home there, or access to one as everything is pretty much closed? We have a house near Big Bear and have been traveling to it nearly every weekend and there hasn’t been one issue from law enforcement for entering the “forbidden zone”.
