Remote workers from the US are apparently taking over many of CDMX's most popular neighborhoods. I honestly don't blame them for moving down there. Mexico City is an amazing world city that is much cheaper than here.

Nope, Texas is getting what it deserves. Your state leaders physically came here and actively sought to poach our companies by throwing all sorts of incentives and it worked.

Well, it worked and tens of thousands of Californians have moved there, and counting.

You are reaping what you sow.

Most state governments are happy to have people move there, it means more revenue from income tax, property tax, and the prestige that comes with increased population (egos). We have heard recently of the residents of Hawaii complaining about all of the tourists ruining their state, and yet the The Hawai'i Visitors and Convention Bureau continues to attract more tourists. In the state of Illinois they are doing TV commercials here in the Seattle area trying to attract tourists, but the actual ads come off as trying to get people to move there.

As a resident of Hawaii it is true about tourists causing a lot of issues lately. Many expect their dream vacation to be served up by locals and some are quite demanding about it. Traffic has noticeably increased, stores crowded, beaches and local hangouts full of people. Probably would not be so bad if tourists knew about the sewage spills into Waikiki and on other islands that happen pretty regularly. Recently all water access points were posted as contaminated and do not enter. This is just a reality of life in Hawaii, where else does a person think the waste will go. Ocean swimmers are mostly tourists, we don't go in that water, especially Waikiki.
