In Siskiyou County, CA there are nearly 7,000 illegal grow operations run by Hmong, Chinese, Russian, and Mexican drug cartels. There aren't enough police officers or sheriffs to even make a small dent in their operations -- the cartels have effectively taken over and can operate with impunity in most of the county.

These illegal cartel grow ops are cheating California out of the tax revenue that is suppose to be derived from legal, approved grow operations which are now dwindling due to competition from cartel weed. Marijuana legalization has basically failed in California, and illegal weed is now dominant.

Even worse, the cartels are now beginning to engage in election fraud, illegally registering swarms of people to vote in local elections for policies or candidates that will favor their presence and illegal activities.

Well, there's one good project His Newsomness can spend some of the surplus on. Putting together some kind of SWAT team with special training, to reclaim that part of the state.

Russians, you say? What kind of Russians? Maybe they're Russian mafia who are here legally, based in NYC, LA, and/or San Fran.

Those guys are destroying the the environment as well.
The havoc they do is so far beyond simple littering.
They are dumping toxic chemicals.
They are stealing much needed water that the wildlife desperately needs.
After the animals die off it’s not like there are others in line waiting to take their place.
They are also making the areas unsafe for our outdoor enthusiasts.

They are not just stealing from us in terms of squatting and booby trapping us out , sometimes at gun point, they are destroying our land and killing our wildlife.

Good points. Sounds like potentially a coordinated effort between the Forest Service and LE. If the activity extends across the OR border, it could be relevant to the FBI. Especially if Asian and Russian gangs/mafia are involved; the FBI has special agents for those groups in SF and LA.

Just to add,

As a Californian that has strong European ties this Russian thing doesn’t fit or make sense to me.
I’m not saying a person or persons from Russia couldn’t do this or that they are all angels but culturally speaking this is not in their wheelhouse.
My guess would be would be homegrown idiots or idiots from south of the border.

They just broke up a poaching ring in Ventura County too.

Mafias move in wherever there's easy and big money to be made, though. I'm saying, it's not impossible. I'm assuming the report has good reason to believe Russians of some sort are involved, and isn't just making things up. Of course it would be helpful to know more about the source of information.

What does "culture" have anything to do with this?

Honestly, the cartels have just as big a presence in Texas as California and the human trafficking is worse in Texas. It’s a product of being border states with massive immigrant communities not politics. Those are good things but the do have byproducts and those are them.

Culture has lots if not everything to do with this.
Would you think that the Japanese or the Saudi’s might be involved with this?
What about the Germans or Israelis ?

Me I don’t feel the need to be politically correct so my bet is on either Americans that need money or Mexicans that need money.
