Spot on. California, because it is so densely populated and sprawling, is perfectly suited for high speed rail networks. I have lived in Japan and absolutely loved their rail system and hope that folks in CA and other states will see the light and get out of their cars and into trains. We can't keep building more freeways and roads that are already jammed before they are even finished.
