Find one near your home.
Complete all your GE because you have to do that regardless of what you major in.
Be aware of the minimum entry standards for the CS and UC schools.

With those majors you could get a job suing doctors that have treated kids who got food poisoning in dance class.

My thoughts are to pick several choices in a major that are similar or would place you in a similar position. Not sure how law and dance would go together. Find out what you are really into and go after that. It doesn't hurt if you have some strenghths that would help within the degree program. Remember this that you may have things you love that you can pursue outside your carreer while still picking a field that will make you some money to be able to follow your passion. For example if you have an interest in Law and you have the ability to make it happen, go for that and practice Dance on the side.

Another topic within the topic is the JC programs. Speaking from the Ventura County area we have three JC's, Ventura, Oxnard, and Moorpark College. Each are within the Ventura Community College System. I attended Oxnard for a semester and then a few years after that completed my first 2 years at Ventura College.

Oxnard has a good program that works along with the University of California Channel Islands Campus. Pick a major that the USUCI Campus has and you can complete your first 2 years at Oxnard College in there PACE program. Puts you in line to enter the CSUCI Campus and stay in the PACE program there.

Ventura College has a Nursing Program that is well known in the area. It is a highly ranked program that can take a couple years just to get into. Additional programs that Ventura College offer are a Construction management program, Engineering program, apprenticeship program for Plumbing, welding, electrical, concrete construction. The Engineering program allows you to complete the first 2 years of the Cal State Program. Cal State Northridge has a very good engineering program that a student can enter after completing the Ventura College Program. Moorpark College I have never attended. They do offer a program working with exotic animals. many of the grads can go right into jobs within Zoos and other places. Some have found jobs working for the Studios.

What I am saying is that many of the JC's have developed programs that are major intensive and will help you within your field. As many have said though the real help that the JC provides is being close to where you live or work. Helps keep the cost of a college education down. A great place to get your prerequisites knocked out at a lower per unit price.
