I have been informed that if you have a 501c3 non-profit status, the corporation can obtain a "hud key" and get homes from hud for extremely low prices, given that they are used for chairites. Does anyone know an attorney that knows about this, or have any other information. We are a non-profit for parenting teens and their babies that are wards of the courts and counties of the State of California. We have a need to buy a facility....or have one donated!!!

I think the "HUD key" may be a bit of an urban legend. Why don't you call up the nearest HUD office and ask them??

I am a Realtor located in St. Louis MO. I would suggest finding a Realtor near you live. A Realtor may assist you with HUD properties. A registered HUD Realtor will have access to the HUD key and properties. You may visit HUD’s website for more information at : www.hud.gov or www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/reo/reobuyfaq.cfm

Best of Luck!
