Hello all. I'm sorry, but I've searched the web everywhere for the answer to this question, but can't seem to find it.

From September '09-December '09 I'll be working abroad in Europe.

Then I'll be back in California. But then September '10 - December '10 I'll be working abroad again. It's during this time that I'll be applying to universities as a transfer. Am I allowed to still apply as a California resident to the UC schools? I've been a CA resident my entire life.

Thank you for reading and I hope to hear some helpful replies soon.

Unless you tell them they will never know. You will still have to file CA state taxes, that will prove residency.

huh! They might not ever know but....if you lied and they found out, what would the penalty be?
Maybe you should do research first to find your answers then make an informed decision on what you want to do.
I would start at the State of California website at Welcome to the State of California
You should be able to find a link here to questions about residency as it applies to state universities.
Try the search box if you cannot find the links...
Good luck!!
