Unless your dad retired in the state of California you don't get any schooling benefits from there. Unless your dad retired in the last few years, I really don't think you get any benefits for school, but I could be wrong.
The best place for you to get these questions answered is the VA. They do have a website that might have the answers your looking for, but you can always call the nearest VA center and ask them.
Also, if you're in school you're medical, commissary, exchange privileges are good until you turn 24, but you must be attending college.
Good luck to you!

A good source for info is militaryonesource.com. There is a staff that takes phone calls as well. I bet they can give you some really good info. This is a relatively new service.

Hope this helps.

First, thanks to your dad for serving our country so many years. Thanks to all military personel..As for benefits, you really need to contact someone with more information than we have here. My gut feeling (and my dad was retired) you do not get education benefits in Ca but I certainly may not be correct. Unless someone on these boards is connected with the military directly we won't have your answer..

Good luck

Nita

You might want to post your question on the military issues forum.

I found this on the GI Bill website: Only members on active duty or in the Selected Reserve on or after Aug. 1, 2009, can transfer new GI Bill benefits.
