Californians past and present, of the following counties listed: Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego, select the one county's beaches that you like the best. Also, tell us why you like a certain county's beaches more than its peers.

Zuma Beach, Los Angeles County, great for families, very clean (bathrooms are OK clean), patrolled, lots of lifeguards, good for boogie boarding and body surfing, plenty of parking on PCH and also in the parking lots ($$).

We already had a poll like this:

Nowadays, I am so addicted to the internet, I'd have to go to the beach like this. It's no wonder my wife thinks I'm a sicko.

Back in the 1970s I LIVED on Zuma beach - taking the beach bus or thumbing it every day from the SFV to Zuma. It's only a matter of time until the doctor tells me I have skin cancer.

Why were Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties not options? They're in Southern California as well. Perhaps because they'd easily win?

While San Diego county has some lovely beaches, the best one I've been to is Bolsa Chica State Beach. You pay for parking, so that keeps the riffraff out(they go to Huntington Beach instead), decent enough swells for body/boogie boarding, fire pits for parties, bike/walking paths, bike rentals, snack bars, etc. All around best beach I've ever been to in CA or FL

Not enough space for the thread title.

My vote is for beaches in Ventura County. I love it there. Also Santa Barbara. Both Ventura and Santa Barbara County beaches have cool views of the Channel Islands off the coast. You just don't get that at the other choices. If we have to choose between the LA, Orange, and San Diego I love the Malibu area. But even that is part in Ventura County.

What a sorrowful poll. The World's Safest Beach location is not included. It's in Carpinteria, California.

The Salton Sea has lovely beaches if you are a bird that cannot smell.
